SAY YES TO THE CELEBRATION AS BROWNS BEAT PITTSBURGH
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
The Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 24–19 on Thursday Night Football at Huntington Bank Field.
It was a classic in every sense of the word.
The Browns got ahead, blew the lead and appeared to be on the verge of losing, but they didn’t give up. They played hard, and they played better than Pittsburgh, especially down the stretch, when it counts the most.
That’s all that matters, to play as hard as you can and win the game.
We can break all this down later, and we have plenty of time to do it because the Browns do not play until next Monday night. That will allow them to get all this of this emotion out of their system.
The Browns need to celebrate it. Their fans need to celebrate. This has been a rough year, a horrible year.
A win over Pittsburgh doesn’t solve all those problems, but in this moment, it soothes a lot of hurt, at least for a while.
Give the Browns credit. Give head coach Kevin Stefanski credit.
This is how we thought the Browns were going to look all season, to make plays late to win games. It didn’t happen that way, obviously, and you can’t change that. What you can do is make the second half of the season a whole lot better than the first half was. That won’t take much, but the Browns want to do a whole lot more than just hop over a low bar. They want to finish strongly. Perhaps they can.
But all that is to be determined. On this night, it’s time to celebrate.
But the question that begs to be asked is, Where was this all season, except against the Baltimore Ravens at home, as amazing as that seems?
