BROWNS BEAT DALLAS, MAKE BIG STATEMENT

By STEVE KING

The Browns won a big one on Sunday.

Yeah, news flash, huh? It’s obvious.

But just how big, really and specifically, was their 49-38 victory over the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium?

Huge. Would that be an appropriate way to describe it?

No, not really, for, in fact, it’s bigger than huge — much, much bigger than huge. Is there a word, or term, that means much, much bigger than huge?

I don’t know, but if there is such a word, or term, then this would be the perfect place to use it, in saying Browns beat Dallas, 49-38. Yeah, that has a nice ring to it, so let’s say it once more: Browns beat Dallas, 49-38.

That it was on the road makes it sound – makes it be – even better.

And did we mention that the telecast of the game was seen by a decent portion of the country?

Still better, right? Oh, absolutely.

And let’s be clear about it, the Browns earned it. Sure. It’s never easy beating the Cowboys in Dallas, no matter how many fans are in the stands, or not. It’s the building. It’s the tradition. It’s the aura of it all. Still, the Browns definitely earned it. There was no doubt about it. And in way, that’s the best part of this, a win with two exclamation points after it, one for the fact they did and the other for the way they did it. Style points? You bet. Why not? On a day like this with a lot of good stuff, we can add eye-candy to the list.

The Browns end the first quarter of the season – head coaches like Kevin Stefanski break these 16-game seasons into four quarters – with a 3-1 record for the first time since 2001, 19 years ago .

Now, that’s REALLY huge.
