So far, so good for Jacoby Brissett as the “interim” starting quarterback for the Browns.
Actually, it’s more like so far, so great for Brissett in that role.
Just better than expected? No, he has been light years better than we all thought.
And I am right at the head of the line of people who, at least to this point, grossly underestimated him. My sincere apologies to the man, and y’all, our readers, for leading everyone astray, very unintentionally so.
Certainly, this — just three games — is an extremely small sample size, and as such, he could, at any moment, morph back into what he has been throughout his NFL career, only a so-so game manager. And if so — if the fancy carriage turns back into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnights — then we will all just have to shrug our shoulders, be grateful for the brief moment of clarity and start counting the days until Deshaun Watson returns, oh, so rusty though he may be.
But — and we have written about this before a couple months ago — what if something truly magical has happened with Brissett and the light has come on for him and it isn’t going off anytime soon?
Stuff like that really does happen from time to time in sports, including in pro football, and at quarterback.
As such, then, why can’t it happen with, and to, the Browns?
Now, wouldn’t that be something?!
