A SPORTS WEEKEND TO REMEMBER FOR LOCAL FANS IS ON TAP
Is this the biggest sports weekend in Northeast Ohio history?
Yes, with everything considered over these next four days, I think you can certainly say that. Indeed, it would be hard to argue with it.

Thw weekend ends with the Browns, licking their wounds after an embarrassing 17-12 loss to the New York Jets last Sunday that halted their three game-winning streak and dropped their record to 3–2, will host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at Huntington Bank Field. The Ravens lead the AFC Norh at 4–1, and if the Browns, who are knotted with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals for second place, could pull off the upset, then they would jump into a first-place tie. When is the last time you could say that about the Browns a little over one-third of the way through the season?
But that’s just part of the weekend. It kicks off on Thursday when the Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays meet in the first of three straight games at Progressive Field in the American League Championship Series. The teams are tied after splitting two games in Tampa, and if the Guardians can somehow sweep the Rays in these three games, which would be a Herculean feat in that Tampa has been the best team in the American League all season, then they would earn a trip to the World Series. The best-of-seven series would go back to Tampa for games six and seven, if necessary.
In addition to all that, Ohio State goes to Indiana on Saturday to meet the defending national champions in the biggest game in college football this weekend by far. A win by the Buckeyes would set them up nicely in their attempt to capture their second national title in three seasons.
Wow! What an array of top-level events!
Fans in the neck of the woods are going to love it. And they will love it even more if the Browns, Guardians and Buckeyes seize upon the opportunity.
