Are Brown’s this year’s Tennessee Titans?
By STEVE KING
It was an ESPN analyst — I can’t recall which one, really, but possibly former Browns safety/special teamer Louis Riddick, whose opinion I greatly trust and value — who, about a month and a half ago, had by far the best categorization of the Browns.

“They are this year’s Tennessee Titans,” he said.
Bingo!
He said the Browns have come of age and started rolling, just like last year’s Titans did. He added that the Browns, again like those Titans, are the team no one wants to face in the playoffs.
Bingo, bingo!!
Last year’s Titans, of course, finished the regular season at 9-7 to go into the postseason as a wild card, beat the defending Super Bowl champion Patriots 20-13 and then the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens 28-12 in the playoffs, and then built a 10-0 lead over the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the first nine minutes of the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium before losing 35-24,
The Browns, coming off two straight victories over the arch rival Pittsburgh Steelers, play the top-seeded Chiefs on Sunday in the divisional playoffs.
Just like last year’s Titans, the Browns refuse to believe they can lose, let alone that they will lose.
Just like last year’s Titans, the Browns are fearless. The tougher the situation — the environment — the more they like it.
Just like last year’s Titans, the Browns have a punishing running game that wears teams down late in the game.
Just like last year’s Titans, who were underdogs to the Patriots, Ravens and Chiefs, the Browns, who were underdogs to Pittsburgh last Sunday night and to the Chiefs, are playing with house money. No one expected them to beat the Steelers, and no one expects them to beat the Chiefs.
And like last year’s Titans, the Browns couldn’t care less what anyone thinks.
