A Slight Step Forward — Or Just Another Spin of the Wheel?

Guardians Tickets and Progressive Field Overview

The NFL season is now over for every team.

It has been for a week now.

The Browns finished 5–12 and missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season. That is two wins better than the 3-14 mark of 2024, but it’s still not very good.

The Browns gave up the fewest points in the AFC North, by a slight margin, but they also scored the fewest, by a wide margin.

They fired their head coach, Kevin Stefanski, and they are also having to replace defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who resigned when he was passed over for the head-coaching job in favor of Todd Monken.

Yes, another new regime is running the Browns? How many has it been for them in this dreary expansion era? I’ve lost count.

But we can’t change the past over the last 25 years. The only thing we can do is concentrate on the present and hope that the Browns make the future better.

So, then, having said all that, how do you feel about the Browns right now? Do you feel better than you did a year ago at this time, or do you feel worse? Or do you feel about the same?

I wonder if you gave Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and General manager Andrew Berry truth serum. How would they answer the question that I just asked of all of you?

I think the Browns would say they feel a little bit better, but they know they still have a long, long way to go. The defense has lost its leader, as we mentioned, and the offense is a real mess.

The question that begs to be asked as well is: How do think you will feel about the Browns at this point next year? Who knows, right? We shall see.
