“49 Weeks of Grind, 3 Weeks of Recharge: Why Rest Is the NFL’s Missing Play”

Rest is underrated, especially when it comes to players and coaches in the NFL.

They grind — hard, very hard, in fact — for 49 weeks out of the year. With the OTAs over, they are now beginning that three-week period when they rest heading into training camp. And if they don’t rest, either by taking a vacation or just chilling out at home, then they will pay for it dearly down the road. Their battery will run out before they get to the end of the season. That’s not good for anybody involved.

And that goes for you fans, too. Take a break. Get away from football. Spend time with your family and enjoy the summer. Life is short. There’s a whole world out there without goal posts, the tush push and quarterback sacks.
