2023 Third-Round Pick Released

Nothing against Siaki Ika, but I am glad the Browns released him.

The second-year defensive tackle was a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, so they had just over a year to evaluate him. If you see that a guy can’t play, then, regardless of where he was drafted, you’ve got to let him go. Keeping players who can’t play will get coaches and general managers fired.

It’s one thing to make a mistake in the evaluation process. It happens to all teams, from the best ones to, of course, the bad ones, which always make a lot of mistakes. But to keep a guy around when he can’t help you, that’s it’s a bigger mistake. In fact, it is a much, much, much, much bigger mistake.

Simply cut bait and move on. And I’m glad the Browns did just with Siaki Ika.
